Year 6 Visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town – 6Owl and 6Hawk
December 7 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm£13.00
Our Year 6 pupils will be visiting Blists Hill Victorian Town. This will be linked to History studies in Key Stage Two, and will give your child an insight into the daily life of a Victorian and a greater understanding of the Victorian experience. Each child will have a full day at Blists Hill to explore and discover the various aspects of Victorian town life.
6Owl and 6Hawk will be visiting on Friday 7th December..
On the day pupils will be expected to arrive at school in full uniform and a warm coat and at the normal time. We expect to arrive back at school at approximately 3.00pm. Mobile phones will be taken in and given out as normal on return.
The cost of the coach and entrance to Blists Hill is £13.00. Please make payment via Parentpay or contact the Finance Office for a bar coded letter. In order to secure the visit, payment will need to be made by Friday 9th November. This is a voluntary contribution; however the trip cannot take place unless we receive sufficient funds.
For the day your child will need a packed lunch (no fizzy drinks or glass bottles/chewing gum) in a carrier bag that can later be disposed of. Additionally, a coat, hat, gloves and a scarf are advisable due to spending most of the day outside. Pupils will have the opportunity to make purchases either from the gift shop or in the Victorian town shops and should bring money if you wish them to do so, to the value of no more than £5. This money is to be kept by the pupils and is their responsibility to look after during the day.
If your child is entitled to Free School Meals, Mr Evans will speak with them before hand to arrange for the school kitchen to provide sandwiches and a drink for them unless they wish to bring these from home themselves.
