Year 6 – Blists Hill Victorian Town Visit – 6Kestrel/EHA and 6Owl/CS
6Kestrel/EHA and 6Owl/CS will be visiting the Victorian style town at Blists Hill on Thursday 16th January 2020.
This opportunity, which is linked to History studies in Key Stage 2, will give your child an insight into the daily life of a Victorian and a greater understanding of the Victorian experience. Each child will have a full day at Blists Hill to explore and discover the various aspects of Victorian town life.
The cost of the coach and entrance is £11.50. In order to secure the visit, payment will need to be made by Thursday 19th December via parent pay. This is a voluntary contribution; however the trip cannot take place unless we receive sufficient funds.
For the day your child will need a packed lunch (no fizzy drinks or glass bottles/chewing gum) in a carrier bag that can later be disposed of. Additionally, a coat, hat, gloves and a scarf are advisable due to spending most of the day outside. Pupils will have the opportunity to make purchases either from the gift shop or in the Victorian town shops and should bring money if you wish them to do so, to the value of no more than £10.00. This money is to be kept by the pupils and is their responsibility to look after during the day.
If your child is entitled to Free School Meals, Mr Evans will speak with them before hand to arrange for the school kitchen to provide a packed lunch.
